New Zealand Diary: Haast Pass to Wanaka

Driving along the Haast Pass, visiting the Fantail Falls and the Blue Pools, and the most beautiful walk of my life on New Year’s Eve in Wanaka.

I have to ask you for a little patience. After the Christmas stress there’s the end of year stress, and I’m late once again… But this day of our journey was so important for me and is sort of emblematic of what has always attracted me so much to New Zealand that I want to do it justice and not rush the creation of this blog post.

In the meantime, I wish you a Happy New Year!!

A few impressions to shorten the time….

The first pastel strokes of my ‚New Zealand Art Experience‘ were for a Lake Wanaka painting.

The „search“ for blue. A theme that runs through many artists‘ biographies
– and that also connects us with each other, regardless of our backgrounds
or the times we come from. This colour seems to be particularly beguiling for us.

When it comes to the colour blue, I discovered some variations in New Zealand that I had never seen before or since.

And it should be mentioned, I think, that the colours in this painting are not made up.
