“Cardrona Flowers” a fine art pastel painting | 56 x 42 cm | Soft pastels and charcoal on acid-free, age-resistant watercolour paper, 300 g/m²
This painting was inpired by the flower fields we found on our way from Wanaka to Queenstown while driving along the Cardrona Valley Road (and then over the Cardrona Pass). We hadn’t really expected to find such an abundance of flowers on the South Island because of the drought. All the other famous Lupin fields had already withered, so this was a surprise.
