I was so happy to see the New Zealand Christmas Trees on the south island, too! I fell in love with the Pohutukawa in Paihia (Bay of Islands, North Island), and it was wonderful to meet them at Doubtful Sound of all beautiful places… I would really like to grow one in my garden 🙂
